If you've had your fill of snuggling up by the fire and tucking into hearty winter dishes, it's high time for some delicious dining with a good dose of Vitamin D. Here's a little preview of some High Country favourites with outdoor dining!
Top spots to dine on the deck
St Leonards Vineyard Café offers fresh, seasonal & simple dishes, to be enjoyed in one of the most beautiful and secluded locations in the High Country. Find a spot under the ancient gums trees, overlooking the Murray River and estate vineyard, while the kids cartwheel and wheelbarrow to their hearts content. Make sure to check their opening days and times.
Here's a way to impress your significant other. Score a couple of the super comfy (and popular) bean bags on the grass at Brown Brothers, grab a bottle of prosecco and the charcuterie board or Milawa Cheese board - job done. Just peeling yourself out of these delightful clouds of comfort will be the most strenuous part of the day.
Pull up a pew on the Hop Terrace at Bright Brewery, overlooking the beautiful Ovens River. Throw in some tasty craft brews and delicious local fare... a little slice of heaven right here in the High Country.
The King Valley triple treat - unbelievable views, award-winning wine and superb Italian cuisine. Driving through the stone gates of Chrismont, you already know you're in for something special. The elegant cellar door and restaurant sits comfortably among the green rolling vines and beautiful vistas. Those views combined with a contemporary Italian menu are what dreams are made of.
